'Patients who seek emotional support for fertility treatment are often better prepared for their experiences, and find it significantly less stressful than patients who do not' Alice D. Domar, PhD
The Bristol Fertility Support Group came to life in October 2013. It is a small and growing group of men and women who come together to have a chat over Tea and biscuits. It is a safe space where you can share experiences, meet new friends and express emotions. We know that fertility issues can create stress and we hope that you find our meetings helpful, come along and join us on a Tuesday evening - our meetings are free!
We meet on the first Tuesday of each month 7pm-8.30pm at Yanley Court
Between myself (Emma Charlton) and my colleague Mandy Parry we hope to make you feel welcome and supported at each group meeting. I am an experienced therapist and offer tips on managing stress levels and dealing with upsetting emotions and Mandy has 'oodles' of experience and knowledge of infertility, having been on 'The Rollercoaster' herself - Mandy is also a Fertility coach.
Are you struggling with secondary infertility? We are often contacted by people struggling with secondary infertility who would like to come along to the support group - but feel that it is not really tailored to their needs. I have set up a 'Secret Face Book Page' where I am hoping to build a community for people struggling with secondary infertility in the Bristol/North Somerset area. If you would like to be added to this group please contact me. It is not a support group but may develop into a meeting place that you can talk to others and arrange to meet each other for support.
