Are you suffering with depression? Depression is a really strong emotion. When you're suffering with depression you may notice that you are exhausted and have little or no motivation to get up in the morning.
Are you sleeping well? Are you having vivid dreams throughout the night? Often when your brain is dreaming excessively during the night you miss out on lots of important slow wave restful and restorative sleep and instead use up lots of energy during the night (Its like taking an exam in your sleep!)
Thankfully there are some great techniques being used by therapists to teach you how to lift your depression quickly.
My favourite self help book to recommend to people suffering with depression is by the Human Givens - there are many tips on working through and challenging black and white thinking, explanations on how your brain is working, ways to help you to lower high emotion and lots more.
It is so important to remember that depression is something that happens to us and not part of us. It is an emotional state that many of us go through at some time in our life.
Depression doesn't define us - it is not part of us - it is an emotional state - a pretty awful one!
Depression can often resolve itself within six months and if it doesn't there are many great resources that are helpful.
